Old Interview Clip Resurfaces

An old video has resurfaced on social media in which the late Assamese singer Zubeen Garg said, “He’s into marijuana, I’m into drinks.”

This witty joke has now reminded his fans of him once again.

Fun and Laughter in Friendship

In the interview, Zubeen also teased his friend Arijit Singh’s habits.

He said, “He’s in the Air Force, I’m in the Navy—I don’t smoke, he likes marijuana.”

This straightforward tone revealed the true nature of the two artists’ bond.

Calling Mumbai ‘Chaotic’

In the same conversation, Zubeen also openly expressed his views on Mumbai.

He described the city as “very chaotic” and emphasized that he dislikes its fast pace and crowds.

This distinct contrast reflects his easygoing nature.

Tragic End: The Truth Behind Death

Zubeen died on September 19, 2025, while swimming at Lazarus Island in Singapore.

Initial reports cited a scuba diving accident, but his wife, Garima Saikia Garg, stated that he had suffered a seizure while swimming for the second time, despite wearing a life jacket.

Last Ride and Honors

He was taken to Singapore General Hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead at 2:30 p.m.

His funeral took place in Kamarkuchi, Assam, with state honors and a 21-gun salute.

Thousands of fans paid their respects at the funeral.

CID Investigation and Arrests

The Assam CID is investigating Zubeen’s death. On October 2, musician Sekharjyoti Goswami, who was present on the yacht that day, was detained.

Following this, co-singer Amritprava Mahanta, cultural organizer Shyamkanu Mahanta, and long-time manager Siddartha Sharma were also arrested based on concrete leads.

Questions Remain

Officials say the investigation is ongoing and all arrests are based on evidence.

Fans are hoping that the reasons behind the suspicious activities in this case will soon come to light.
