Vivek Oberoi was ostracized by the film industry for speaking out against Salman Khan; he went into depression due to grief.

The Turning Point in Vivek Oberoi’s Career
In 2003, Vivek Oberoi called a press conference and shocked everyone by accusing Salman Khan of bullying him.
At the time, it was being said that Salman had harassed him about Vivek and Aishwarya Rai’s relationship.
But this revelation unleashed a storm in Oberoi’s life and changed his course.
Exclusion from the Film Industry
After the press conference, Oberoi was singled out by the industry.
He was dropped from films he had previously signed.
“I couldn’t find work anywhere,” Vivek said in a recent interview.
His family also received frequent threatening calls, which made the situation even more frightening.
Threats and Mental Pressure
Not only this, Oberoi and his family faced numerous anonymous threatening calls.
His father, mother, and sister’s phones would ring constantly, and each call was terrifying.
This ongoing hostility shook Vivek to the core and left him psychologically shattered.
The Darkness of Depression
Amidst difficult decisions and loneliness, Vivek Oberoi says, “I fell into depression.”
Failing to find support, he sought out his mother and broke down in tears. “I asked myself the question, ‘Why me?’ a lot,” he recalled.
His mother consoled him, saying she had never asked him that question during his victory.
What’s the outlook now?
Today, Oberoi laughs at the incident and says he no longer worries.
But the memory of his mother’s tears still hurts.
“Those moments are just those buried memories that sometimes surface,” he says. He’s learned that some moments leave an etched mark on the heart.
New Beginnings at Work
On the work front, Vivek Oberoi will soon be making a splash in Masti 4.
His pairing with Riteish Deshmukh and Aftab Shivdasani will refresh the franchise in many ways.
Produced by Ashok Thakeria, Indra Kumar, and Ekta Kapoor, this film will bring back the same old fun and comedy.
Lessons Learned
Vivek Oberoi’s story shows that conversations can sometimes hurt.
When surrounded by opposition, the strength of family comes in handy.
Today, as he returns to new projects, it’s clear that the right time and the right mindset give a person a chance to make a comeback.
