Tulsi’s Explosive Comeback! Smriti Irani Will Be TV Queen Again

Tulsi’s dearest daughter-in-law, Smriti Irani will return home again, and Ekta’s masterstroke will excite fans

The Queen of Prime Time Returns

Guess who’s back on your TV screens? Smriti Irani is stepping back into Tulsi Virani’s shoes in the reboot of “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi”!

The show that once ruled our evenings for seven whole years (2000-2008) is making a comeback, and fans are going crazy with joy.

First Look: New Tulsi, Old Style

Smriti’s first glimpse of Tulsi has already been released, and it’s pure nostalgia!

She’s wearing a beautiful maroon saree with golden butis and a zari border.

And yes, that signature big red bindi is exactly where it should be, along with traditional temple jewelry, a black beaded mangalsutra, and those stacked bangles we all tried to copy back in the day.

Why Such a Long Wait?

It turns out this reunion could have happened much earlier!

While talking on “We The Women” with Barkha Dutt and Karan Johar, Smriti revealed some secrets:

“The biggest hidden secret about Kyunki was that I had a contract to do it again in 2014.

The set was also ready, but then the call came from the Prime Minister’s office to take the oath,” she shared.

She also shared how Rishi Kapoor encouraged her political journey, saying that “serving the country is a much greater service than just doing films or TV.”

Perfection Takes Time

Mihir is also returning! Amar Upadhyay, who played Smriti’s on-screen husband, has confirmed that the show’s premiere date has been postponed.

Why? Because Ekta Kapoor wants everything to be absolutely perfect.

“The set had to be rebuilt. The color combination wasn’t showing well on screen,” Upadhyay explained.

“Ekta knows exactly what she wants—she’s a perfectionist. This isn’t just another show. It’s a legacy.”

Worth the Wait?

With both Tulsi and Mihir returning, this reboot isn’t just bringing back characters—it’s bringing back an era of Indian television that changed the way daily soaps were watched.

The original show wasn’t just popular; it was a cultural phenomenon for which people rushed home to watch every episode.

Will the magic work again? We’ll have to wait and see, but with Smriti returning to her iconic role, nostalgia is guaranteed!
