James Gunn’s Superman reboot, starring David Corenswet in the iconic blue uniform, is making waves around the world.
The film has already grossed USD 56.5 million in North America, while international markets have added another USD 40 million from 78 countries.

In India, the Man of Steel is no joke. After earning Rs 8 crore on the first day, the film added another Rs 9 crore on the second day, taking the total to Rs 17 crore.
That’s enough to become the third-highest DC debut in the country.

Telugu film Kannappa starring Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, and Mohanlal has taken a big blow, with collections falling by 92% in the second week.

Even Rajkummar Rao’s Maalik couldn’t compete with the superhero juggernaut.
It earned Rs 3.75 crore on the first day and Rs 5.25 crore on the second day, which is way behind Superman’s figures.

By the end of Sunday, Superman is expected to cross the USD 210 million mark globally.

The UK welcomed Superman with open arms, giving it a USD 3.6 million opening Friday and a 66% market share.
Mexico led the international territories with USD 3.8 million, while Brazil, Australia and France contributed USD 2.5 to 3 million each.
Asian Markets: Mixed Response
Asia hasn’t been as enthusiastic, with Korea showing a weak performance and China bringing in USD 2.4 million on Friday.
China’s final count is expected to reach around USD 11 million.

Interestingly, F1: The Movie continues its impressive run with Rs 75 crore in 15 days.

Meanwhile, Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan starring debutante Shanaya Kapoor and Vikrant Massey is faring worse, earning only Rs 43 lakh on its second day, taking its total to Rs 73 lakh.

Superman now holds the second-highest global opening of 2025, behind A Minecraft Movie (USD 57.11 million) but ahead of Lilo & Stitch (USD 55.94 million).
