‘Single Salma’ Review: Despite Huma Qureshi’s good acting, the film is disoriented and confusing.

‘Single Salma’ Review: Huma Qureshi’s Hard Work!
Have you ever seen a film that makes you think, “It’s good that I got to see this film for free”? ‘Single Salma‘ is exactly that.
While films like ‘Pink’ and ‘Queen’ brilliantly portrayed women’s freedom, ‘Single Salma’ finds itself entangled in its own shoes while trying to join this club.
What’s the Story?
Salma Rizvi (Huma Qureshi) is a government employee from Lucknow who is troubled by her family’s constant “when will you get married?”
She is single and happy, but when two lovers enter her life—Sikander (Shreyas Talpade), who arranges a band for her, and Meet (Sunny Singh), a Londoner—the story begins to get complicated.
Instead of embracing choice and freedom, this film ends up being a mix of confusion and nonsensical drama.
2 hours 22 minutes of confusion
The film’s biggest problem is its long and boring runtime. Be it the pointless go-karting scene or the bikini scandal where a man searches for “bikini pictures” in a cyber cafe and Salma’s photo pops up! It’s all so absurd that it feels like watching a rejected TV serial script.
Huma Qureshi’s efforts are futile
Huma Qureshi tries her best to bring Salma’s character to life, but she too seems helpless in the face of poor writing.
The film is watchable solely because of Huma’s presence. Shreyas Talpade’s character initially seems like a green light, but later he is reduced to comic relief.
London Track: Waste of Waste
The London portion feels like a travel vlog, where, despite the expensive shooting, all that’s left is fake accents and silly jokes.
The climax is completely ridiculous – when Salma runs away from her own wedding and both lovers arrive at her house with separate wedding processions!
Word: Better not to watch
‘Single Salma’ isn’t a celebration of singlehood, but a test of the audience’s patience.
Huma Qureshi deserves better, the audience deserves better films, and being single is much happier than this. It’s better to skip this film!
