He recently shared an emotional post on his Instagram, revealing his entire story.
With Glasses Since Childhood
Shekhar explained that he had very poor eyesight since childhood and had to wear very thick glasses.
The moment he took them off, the world would become a blur. Then, when LASIK surgery became popular in India, he underwent the procedure and was finally able to see the world clearly without glasses!
The funny thing is, even after removing his glasses, his habit didn’t go away.
He would often try to adjust those imaginary glasses on his nose. Do you have a similar habit?
The Trouble Happened Four Years Ago
But about four years ago, his vision suddenly began to deteriorate again. This problem progressed so rapidly that his vision became significantly impaired.
Wearing lenses became uncomfortable, and glasses became heavy again. Everything always appeared blurry.
Troubles on Stage and in the Studio
This problem became a major obstacle to his work. Whether he was performing on stage or composing a new song in the studio, his blurred vision created difficulties everywhere.
He jokingly writes that sometimes he would enthusiastically say “Hi” to a stranger, and sometimes he would say “Hi” sadly because he couldn’t recognize an acquaintance. He has also apologized to all of them!
Cataract Diagnosed
After consulting several doctors, he was diagnosed with cataracts.
At first, he was apprehensive about the surgery, but eventually, he gathered courage and underwent the operation.
Hope for a New Beginning
He is now in recovery and once again looking forward to a future without glasses.
He described the beginning of this new life as a 25-year journey filled with new dreams, new beginnings, and more music than ever before.
