sudden demise of the ‘Shefali Jariwala’ star

The entertainment industry is still not over the unexpected demise of actress and model Shefali Jariwala, who passed away on Friday, June 27.

At just 42 years old, the sudden demise of the star, best known for her iconic appearance in the 2002 music video “Kaanta Laga”, has left fans and colleagues stunned.

What’s known so far

The Amboli police have told NDTV that although the final post-mortem and forensic reports will not be available until next week, initial medical findings point to cardiac arrest as the likely cause.

Officials have insisted there is no sign of an accident, a conclusion her family also supports.

Last Hours

Shefali was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital by her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, but doctors declared her dead at around 11:15 pm.

The post-mortem was later conducted at Cooper Hospital and recorded on video for completeness.

Worrying factors revealed

Several disturbing details have emerged during the investigation. The police found that Shefali:

  • Was fasting for a puja at home on the day of her death
  • Had eaten stale fried rice during the fast
  • Had recently taken anti-ageing injections without medical supervision
  • Had a history of epilepsy which could have been a contributing factor

Medical treatments under scrutiny

A search of her residence yielded glutathione injections, vitamin C shots and acidity tablets.

“These medicines were advised to her by a doctor years ago, and since then she had been taking this treatment every month…

These medicines could have been a major cause of the cardiac arrest,” a source close to the investigation told NDTV.

Doctor’s View

A doctor who had previously treated Shefali revealed that she had not visited his clinic since March—about three months before her death—which has raised questions about the medical monitoring of her treatments.

A team is investigating

A team of five doctors is now analysing whether medication, food poisoning, or her history of epilepsy could have contributed to the cardiac arrest.

The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report will be crucial in determining the exact cause.

Remembering Shefali

Apart from “Kaanta Laga”, which brought her fame in 2002, Shefali appeared in the 2004 film “Mujhse Shaadi Karogi” alongside Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar.

Reality TV fans also knew her from “Nach Baliye” (seasons 5 and 7) and “Bigg Boss 13”, where her vivacious personality won many hearts.

As the investigation continues, fans around the world are remembering the star who brought energy and charisma to everything he did.
