Shanaya kapoor’s debut film flops! Earns only 35 lakhs on the first day

Shanaya Kapoor-Vikrant Massey’s film ‘Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan’ with a budget of 50 crores flops at the box office

‘Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan’ flopped on the very first day

Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor’s romantic drama ‘Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan‘ has made a disappointing start at the box office.

The film, which released on Friday, barely collected Rs 35 lakh on the first day, which is very less for a film with a budget of Rs 50 crore.

The film lagged behind in tough competition

‘Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan’ faced competition from Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Maalik’ and Hollywood film ‘Superman’ in the theatres.

In such a tough competition, the film failed to attract the attention of the audience.

Even Vikrant Massey, who gave a hit film like ’12th Fail’, could not save this film.

Lost badly to ‘Maalik’

Rajkummar Rao’s gangster film ‘Maalik’ earned Rs 3.35 crore on the first day, while ‘Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan’ could not earn even half of that.

According to the early trend report of SaccNilc, Shanaya’s debut film collected only Rs 35 lakh.

Last hope on weekend

Now the last hope of the film’s makers rests on the collection of Saturday and Sunday.

If the film’s earnings do not increase even on the weekend, it will prove to be a huge loss deal for the producers.

An opening of 35 lakhs against a budget of 50 crores is a worrying sign.

What is the story of the film?

Written by Mansi Bagla and directed by Santosh Singh, ‘Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan’ is based on Ruskin Bond’s short story “The Eyes Have It”.

In this film, Vikrant plays a blind musician, while Shanaya becomes a theater artist.

The story begins during a train journey, where a bond is formed between the two characters.

After this, there are many twists in the story. However, despite the good story, the film has failed to pull the audience to the theater.
