Abhinav Kashyap’s dig at Shah Rukh and Salman Khan sparks controversy on social media

Bollywood in turmoil again
Bollywood was rocked again when director Abhinav Kashyap, following his allegations against Salman Khan, launched a barrage of comments against Shah Rukh Khan.
Straight Talk About Transactions
In a conversation with Bollywood Thikana, Abhinav said, “This community only knows to take, not to give.
They only take, take, and take more,” and directly questioned whether these stars ever give back to society.
Jannat vs Mannat
Referring to Shah Rukh’s two bungalows—the ‘Mannat’ in Mumbai and the ‘Jannat’ in Dubai—he quipped: “All your prayers were answered here.
But if your ‘Jannat’ (paradise) is there, go live there. What are you doing in India?”
Film Dialogues and a Billion-Year Difference
Abhinav cited Shah Rukh Khan’s famous line, “Talk to the father before touching the son,” and said that this aspect doesn’t match real life.
“These people have built palaces beyond the reach of the common man. Does their net worth allow me to eat?”
He believed that while Shah Rukh may be a master of conversation, Neeyat is even worse than him.
Social Media Outrage
His comments sparked a firestorm on social media. Many users called him “Islamophobic” and questioned why a personal conflict was being deepened by dragging in religious dimensions.
First Salman, Then Shah Rukh
Abhinav had previously called Salman Khan and his family “proven criminals,” saying that Salman is still out of his element and that “a criminal is a criminal.”
In an interview with Screen, he even called Salman a “goon with no interest in acting,” and said that for 25 years he has believed only in celebrity power, not in craft.
What’s next?
Now, debate is raging in Bollywood circles about who will be the next target of Abhinav Kashyap’s attack, and what the stars’ response strategy will be.
The controversy has once again exposed the flaws hidden behind Bollywood’s glamour.
