When Shah Rukh Khan unleashed his Delhi swagger on the phone, he changed a film for Yash Johar.

Shah Rukh was furious
Before becoming the superstar he is today, Shah Rukh Khan was ready to do anything for his friends.
Producer Vivek Vaswani recounted an incident when Feroz Khan’s assistant, Wasi Khan, used abusive language on the phone.
As soon as Shah Rukh heard this, he immediately retaliated, lashing out at him with the most colorful Delhi slang. Shah Rukh threatened to beat him up if he called again.
Refusal to do Mahesh Bhatt’s film
At that time, Shah Rukh was completely unwilling to do a film with Mahesh Bhatt.
He clearly stated that Bhatt’s style of cinema and his own were not compatible.
He was very clear about his work and flatly refused to do anything he didn’t like. That’s why, even after listening to Vivek Vaswani, he initially refused to do the film.
SRK relents to help Yash Johar
But when Vivek told Shah Rukh that Yash Johar was going through a difficult financial period and Dharma Productions desperately needed a hit film, Shah Rukh changed his mind.
Friendship and humanity were more important to him than his own stubbornness. He immediately agreed, even though the film was to be made with Mahesh Bhatt.
‘Duplicate’ was made and a new friendship was born
This decision led to the making of the film ‘Duplicate’. Interestingly, Mahesh Bhatt rarely came to the sets, and most of the work was done by Karan Johar and Shah Rukh together.
This film not only saved Dharma Productions but also laid the foundation for a friendship between Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan that continues to this day.
This anecdote proves that Shah Rukh’s heart is much bigger than his superstar image.
