He was 74 years old. The entire film industry was plunged into mourning upon hearing the news of his passing.

Shabana Azmi remembers

Veteran actress Shabana Azmi remembered him by sharing an old photo on Instagram.

The photo is from the birthday of Roopa Sheikh, who passed away last year from cancer.

Shabana wrote, “This photo is from a few years ago. Last year we lost Roopa, and now Satish is gone too.”

Both were college friends

Shabana said that she and Satish were college mates. “We would often meet at mutual friends’ houses.

He was always a cheerful and lively person. Farooq Shaikh and he were a great team. Gone too soon.”

What was the cause of death?

P.D. Hinduja Hospital reported that an emergency call was received from his home.

When the ambulance arrived, Satish Shah was unconscious. Despite CPR, he could not be revived.

Filmmaker Ashok Pandit stated that he died due to kidney failure.

In his four-decade-long career, Satish Shah created comedic characters that are still remembered today.
