A prominent face in the world of Bollywood and TV has said goodbye forever. Veteran actor Satish Shah passed away in Mumbai on Saturday.

The 74-year-old actor died of kidney failure. His fellow actor Anupam Kher confirmed the tragic news and expressed his grief through an emotional video.

Anupam Kher is heartbroken

Anupam Kher, who was in Switzerland, looked utterly devastated. He said that when he received the news, he was at the same location where Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge was shot.

Holding back tears, he said, “What is happening? Three wonderful people are gone in three days.”

Recalling his banter with Satishji, he said, “I used to call him and say, ‘Satish, my Shah!’ and he would reply, ‘My king!'”

A Memorable Career

Satish Shah has left an indelible mark on audiences throughout his 40-year career. His character, ‘D’Mello’, in the film ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron’ still makes people laugh.

His role as ‘Indravadan Sarabhai’ in the TV show ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’ became so popular that he became a household name.

He also won audiences’ hearts with his comic timing in several superhit films like ‘Main Hoon Na’ and ‘Kal Ho Na Ho.’

Sudden Deterioration

Filmmaker Ashok Pandit revealed that Satish Shah’s health suddenly deteriorated, after which he was immediately rushed to Hinduja Hospital, where he breathed his last.

He is survived by his wife, Madhu Shah. His funeral will take place today, October 26, in Mumbai.

The industry has lost a great artist, but his memories and laughter will always remain with us through his films and shows. Om Shanti.
