Stubborn nature since childhood
Born on 29 July 1959 to Sunil Dutt and Nargis, Sanjay Dutt was always a little different and stubborn.
Sanju, who was fond of playing drums in school, spent his childhood in a filmy environment, where his own little mischiefs often became a topic of discussion.
Embarrassment in front of Lata ji
At the age of just 12-13, Sanjay insisted on his father to go to Bangladesh.
After the 1971 war, he went there with a group of artists and showed his art of playing bongos.
But when Lata Mangeshkar was singing, the melodious sound of his bongos caught everyone’s attention.
As soon as Lata ji looked at him, he became very embarrassed – an incident which Sunil Dutt often used to narrate with fun.
Beginning of film journey
Sanju, who started his career with ‘Rocky’ in 1981, took his first step in acting under the direction of his father.
Then films like ‘Saajan‘, ‘Khalnayak’, and ‘Vaastav’ made him a Bollywood superstar. He also received a Filmfare Award for ‘Vaastav’.
Ups and downs of life
Sanjay’s life is no less than a film story. His name coming up in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts, going to jail for possessing weapons, and then fighting drug addiction – all these were the big struggles of his life.
But his courage to get up every time after falling always inspired the fans.
From Munnabhai to Adheera
‘Munnabhai MBBS’ and ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’ gave him a new life.
Then in 2022, Adheera of ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ also made him famous in the South Industry.
His characters in ‘Shamshera’, ‘Samrat Prithviraj’, and ‘Leo’ also garnered a lot of appreciation.
Still active
Even today, at the age of 66, Sanju Baba is active in films. He also ventured into production and produced films like ‘Prasthanam’.
His life story is so interesting that a biopic has been made on him.
