Salman Khan’s statement over Balochistan sparks a stir on social media.

Salman Khan’s statement in Riyadh
Salman Khan recently appeared at the Joy Forum 2025 in Riyadh. He spoke about Bollywood’s global reach, but one sentence changed the focus.
A video clip quickly went viral in which he mentioned Balochistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan separately.
What did Salman say?
He said, “If you release a Hindi film here in Saudi Arabia, it will be a superhit. Tamil and Telugu films will also earn hundreds of crores because so many people from other countries work here.
There are people from Balochistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan… everyone is working here.” This single statement created a storm.
Social media stirred up uproar
People immediately reacted to this statement. Many users suggested that Salman intentionally described Balochistan as separate from Pakistan.
One user wrote, “This shows that Balochistan is not part of Pakistan, but a separate nation.” Meanwhile, some felt it was simply a mispronunciation.
I don’t know if it was slip of tongue, but this is amazing! Salman Khan separates “people of Balochistan” from “people of Pakistan” .

What is the Balochistan issue?
Balochistan is a highly sensitive region. Some groups there have long demanded greater autonomy and allege economic and political discrimination.
Pakistan has consistently maintained that Balochistan is an integral part of Pakistan and that separatist groups receive foreign funding.
Salman did not comment
Amid this controversy, Salman Khan has yet to offer any clarification. He was on stage with Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan at the event.
Currently, debate continues on social media as to whether this was a deliberate statement or simply a slip of the tongue.
