Looks like Salman Khan fans will not get an Eid gift in 2026!
The superstar’s upcoming film “Battle of Galwan” will not release during the festive season as expected.
Why was a festive release avoided?
The makers want to avoid crowding the box office. There are already three big films lined up for March 19, 2026 – Yash’s “Toxic”, “Dhamaal 4”,
and potentially Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Love and War” starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles.
Salman, who is known to be fair in such matters, does not want to make the festive weekend more crowded.
New release window: January or June?
The team is now eyeing January or June 2026 for the film’s release.
Considering Ramadan begins from the third week of February and several films are scheduled between these months, these two windows seem to make the most sense.
Production timeline
The makers are planning to wrap up the shoot in 55-60 days.
If everything goes as planned, we might see the film in theatres in January. If post-production takes longer, June will become the target.
Why not Eid al-Adha?
Although Eid-al-Adha will fall on May 27, the IPL cricket season will be in full swing at that time till May 31, 2026.
The filmmakers don’t want to clash with the cricket fever.
As insiders say, “Salman Khan is a big star who doesn’t need any holiday or festival for his film release.”

Fans will remember that Salman’s last film, “Sikander”, starring Rashmica Mandana, did not do well at the box office.
