Early pregnancy and Raj’s scare
Patralekhaa herself couldn’t believe she was pregnant, as the first home pregnancy kit came out negative.
When the truth came out, Rajkummar Rao was “very scared”.
For the first time, parental responsibilities suddenly came into his life, and he had to prepare himself for this new role.
The struggle of freezing eggs
Patralekhaa had frozen her eggs three years ago. The process involved hormonal injections, healthy living regimes and emotional ups and downs. “The doctor didn’t fully explain the difficulties,” she said.
Relief of natural conception
When she conceived naturally, Patralekhaa felt, “It was easier than expected.”
She advises young girls that it is better to go straight to pregnancy rather than freeze the leftover eggs, as it is less stressful on both the body and mind.
How did she first get the information?
After the negative test, Patralekhaa got to know the truth only when she had a consultation with a gynaecologist.
“We thought the test must have been wrong,” she recalls with a laugh.
Pressure of a TV show
The couple decided to keep their pregnancy a secret until the first trimester as they were bound by a contract for a travel show.
As per the contract signed in December-January, they found out about their pregnancy in March and were scheduled to shoot in April. “We were really scared,” Patralekhaa said.

Love Story: From Meeting to Marriage
The two met at an ad shoot. Rajkummar said that the moment he saw Patralekhaa for the first time, he realized, “This is the one.”
