Rajkummar Rao & Patralekhaa’s Baby news

Bollywood’s power couple, Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa, have just shared some big news – they are expecting their first child! Yesterday, they took to social media to share their happiness with fans with a simple “Elated” caption.

Maalik: Raj’s new powerful avatar

Rajkummar will move away from small-town characters and will be seen in “Maalik,” releasing tomorrow (July 11). This role will see him in his most dangerous avatar yet.

Unlike many actors who dive into dark roles (remember what happened to Ranveer Singh after he became Khilji?), Raj has his own perspective:

“Coming out of such an intense role is easier than going into it,” he says. “Growing a beard and understanding a character with such power takes time. But once you understand, the journey becomes very exciting.”

Behind-the-scenes chemistry

Patralekhaa recalls when she visited him during the shoot of “Omerta”: “I said, ‘What is this?’ Something had changed. They don’t realise how unconsciously it happens.”

When congratulated on the pregnancy, the couple happily replied, “Thank you so much. Very happy.”

In a funny moment, when asked if they wouldn’t show their baby “Maalik” as a dad’s first film, Rajkummar laughed, “No, no, not that.”

Parenthood vibes

“I will be a good father, and I am a good husband so I am very careful,” the father-to-be told NDTV at an event today.

Patralekhaa’s breakthrough moment

Patralekhaa has received rave reviews for playing Savitribai Phule, founder of India’s first girls’ school, in her latest film.

When asked about the recognition she finally got, she looked at Raj, who said, “After IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, she got a certain acceptance.”

Patralekhaa opened up: “When you are on the right track but face stagnation, you wonder if this is for you.

I cried after reading the reviews of IC: 814. It is very emotional to get this recognition after so many years.”

While Patralekhaa is enjoying her recent success, Rajkummar’s “Maalik” is releasing in cinemas tomorrow.
