The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a notice to Kartik, advising him to withdraw from the “Azadi Utsav – The Indian Independence Day” event to be held on August 15 in Houston.

The event is being organized by Aga’s Restaurant & Catering, an establishment owned by a Pakistani.

Furthermore, these organizers are also promoting Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations.

Kartik’s team’s response

Kartik’s team was quick to clarify that “they are not associated with the event in any way” and that they never announced their participation.

They have asked the organizers to remove all promotional material carrying their name and picture.

The Azadi Utsav is being promoted as India’s Independence Day, but it is being hosted by a business that is also organising “Jashn-e-Azadi” for Pakistan’s Independence Day.
