Ibrahim Ali Khan admits he made his Bollywood debut too early. What did he say after Nadaaniyan and Sarzameen flopped?

Lessons from the First Year
Ibrahim Ali Khan has now given a very honest account of his first year in Bollywood.
After two consecutive flops of OTT releases, the young actor admitted that he may have rushed into films.
In an interview, he said, “I’m not saying I took the opportunity lightly, but my attitude was ‘It’ll Be Done.'”
Major Decision Made at 21
Ibrahim admitted that starting his first film at the age of 21 was perhaps premature. He said, “People around me are doing all this at 26-28.
Now I feel I could have taken my steps a little more carefully.” However, he also clarified that he worked hard, especially on his speech issues.
Two films didn’t work
Ibrahim’s debut film, “Nadaniyaan,” released on Netflix, starred veterans like Mahima Chaudhary and Sunil Shetty.
But it didn’t exactly win with critics—it received only a 12% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Just four months later, “Sarzameen” also failed to do well, despite featuring a star cast like Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Family name gives courage
Ibrahim explained that the names of his famous family—father Saif Ali Khan, grandmother Sharmila Tagore, and stepmom Kareena Kapoor—always keep him grounded.
He says, “Whenever I have self-doubt, I remember—you’re Saif Ali Khan’s son, Bebo is in your house. You have to crack it!”
What’s next?
The beginning was disappointing, but Ibrahim isn’t one to give up. His next film, “Diler,” is a sports drama directed by Kunal Deshmukh, due out in 2026.
Perhaps he’s finally decided on the right timing and the right project.
