News of a groundbreaking collaboration has arrived in the world of pop music today!
Global sensation Ed Sheeran has collaborated with India’s talented singer Jonita Gandhi to release a Hindi remix of his popular song ‘Heaven’.
This new version will be part of Ed Sheeran’s upcoming remix EP, which further enhances his latest album, Play.
Ed Sheeran’s first Hindi song!
This collaboration is historic in many ways, as it is Ed Sheeran’s first song to feature Hindi lyrics.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Jonita Gandhi expressed what a huge honor this is for her.
She said, “I think this is his first song with Hindi lyrics, and I feel very honored to be the singer performing it.
It’s a beautiful love song, and I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to put a little bit of my personality and heart into it.”
Jonita from Fan-Girl to Collaborator
Jonita has been a huge fan of Ed Sheeran’s work, so this experience was a dream come true for her.
Jonita said, “I’ve been a huge fan of Ed for as long as I’ve known him, so working with him on this version of ‘Heaven’ is really special.”
The two met during Ed’s concert in India earlier this year, where Jonita opened for him.
Jonita praised Ed Sheeran, saying that he is genuine and grounded and deeply respects Indian music and culture.
The Feeling of ‘The One’
The Hindi verse sung by Jonita perfectly captures the song’s emotional essence.
Jonita explains, “My verse in the song captures the feeling when you realize you’re with ‘the one.’
It’s super romantic, and I can’t wait for people to hear this version!”
This collaboration is even more special for Jonita because October is her birthday, and Diwali is coming soon.
Not Just Jonita, More Indian Stars
Jonita Gandhi isn’t the only Indian artist featured on Ed Sheeran’s upcoming EP.
The project also features Karan Aujla on “Symmetry,” rapper Hanumankind, and Tamil composer Santhosh Narayanan with his daughter Dhee on “Don’t Look Down.”
This clearly shows Ed Sheeran’s appreciation for Indian music and talent.
Jonita Gandhi, who started her singing career with Chennai Express in 2013, has now given chart-toppers like The Breakup Song and Mental Manadhil and is making India proud on the global stage.
