A major Bollywood project, “Apne 2,” which was supposed to bring the Deol family together in one frame, has now been shelved forever. Director Anil Sharma has confirmed that the film will no longer be made.

Anil Sharma and Dharmendra’s relationship wasn’t just that of a director and actor, but they were a long-standing one. He said, “Apne toh apne baana nahi sakti (The film cannot exist without one’s own).”

According to him, the script was completely ready and everything was on track, but without Dharam Paaji, making a sequel wouldn’t have made any sense.

As they say, some dreams remain just that. The director has made it clear that without the main pillar, this building cannot stand.

Three generations will not be seen together

This film was also special because it brought together three generations of the Deol family.

Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and grandson Karan Deol—the coming together of all of them was nothing short of magical.

The emotional connection created by 2007’s “Apne” had people eagerly awaiting its next chapter.

But perhaps fate didn’t allow us to see this iconic family recreate magic on the silver screen.

Will be seen for the last time in ‘Ikkis’

Even though the dream of ‘Apne 2’ has been shattered, fans still have a chance to see their favorite star one last time.

Dharmendra ji’s last film, ‘Ikkis’, will be released on December 25, 2025, exactly a month after his death.

He will be seen in this film alongside Agastya Nanda. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid tribute to him, saying his passing marked the “end of an era.” His memories and work will always remain in our hearts.
