Bhumi Pednekar reveals the true story of body shaming and self-love.

She broke stereotypes
When Bhumi Pednekar came out with “Dum Laga Ke Haisha” in 2015, she shattered the “perfect body” image we’d been seeing in Bollywood for years.
Nearly a decade later, both Bhumi’s body and her thinking have changed, but she believes the struggle with one’s body never completely ends.
Self-love is a journey
In an interview, Bhumi confessed, “Since childhood, we hear all kinds of comments, so body image issues never completely go away.
But you have to learn to love yourself, and it’s a long process.”
According to her, there are still days when she feels heartbroken.
Fitness is mental peace
For Bhumi, fitness isn’t just about external beauty, but also about mental clarity.
She says, “Whenever I work out, I tell myself it’s for my body.
I want to live longer. Running or walking gives me mental peace.”
How she deals with trolls
Bhumi, who was previously trolled for her obesity, now also receives reactions to her transformation.
Her answer to this is clear: “When I weighed 96 kg, people had opinions. Now that I’ve changed, I still have opinions.
The only difference is that now I do listen, but ultimately, I do what’s right for me.”
What’s next?
After “The Royals,” Bhumi is now preparing for her next film.
She revealed, “Several projects are lined up, though they haven’t been announced yet.
You’ll see me in 3-4 films next year.” This has only increased the anticipation of fans.
