Happiness overflows on Instagram

On Friday, Anil Kapoor expressed in his Instagram story how proud he is of India’s spectacular success.

India won 99 medals and achieved the feat of 50 gold medals for the first time in the Asian Shooting Championship held in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.

Anil ji had written, “That’s how you hit the bullseye! 99 medals, 50 golds, India shines brightest…” and indeed the country made such a blast that every shooter emerged as our star.

99 medals, 50 golds: History created

In this championship, India added a new chapter in sports history by giving its best performance to date.

50 out of 99 gold medals are also memorable because it was never thought that Indian shooters would bring such a large number of gold medals abroad.

Hours of accuracy of shooting and mental focus played a role in each gold.

Ankur Mittal’s world record blast

33-year-old Ankur Mittal created a new world record with 107 hits in the men’s double trap event.

After him, Artyom Chikulayev of Kazakhstan and Ahmad Alaffasi of Kuwait won bronze and silver medals.

Then, Ankur, along with Bhanu Pratap Singh and Harshvardhan Kaviy, won the bronze medal in the team event as well, thus truly writing a success story.

Rajkanwar Singh Sandhu’s goldie touch

Rajkanwar Singh Sandhu won the gold medal in 25m centre fire pistol with 583 points.

When Sandhu reached the gold in the final, leaving behind Korea’s Lee Jaekyoon and Iran’s Javad Foroughi, India’s bag filled even more.

In the team event too, he waved the flag of double victory with Gurpreet Singh and Ankur Goel.

Women stars also shone

Anushka Singh Bhati, Rajkuwar Pranil Ingle, and Yeshaya Hafiz Contractor together won medals in women’s double trap.

In the 50m rifle prone event, Manini Kaushik raised India’s hopes by winning individual bronze and team silver medals.

Sift Kaur Samra won both individual and team gold in the 50m rifle 3 positions, which is a living example of the strength of women shooters.

Great glimpse of juniors and youth

India’s young shooters also performed brilliantly in the junior and youth categories.

They laid a strong foundation for the future by winning several gold medals in air pistol, air rifle, skeet and trap events.

These juniors will take Indian shooting to greater heights in the times to come.

New chapter, new hopes

Anil Kapoor’s praise-filled post once again reminded us that sports are not just about dreaming; it is also about the passion to make them come true.

Even though 99 medals were won in the Asian Shooting Championship, the biggest thing is the hard work, patience and confidence of each shooter.

Now, the pace that these stars have gained for the challenges ahead is expected to give an even brighter future to Indian sports.
