In the premiere episode on August 12, Big B not only talked about the early days of the show, but also shared one of his memorable memories which he has not forgotten till date.
When the contestant from Delhi touched the strings of old memories
Vijay, the first contestant from Delhi, told how he fed his parents in a restaurant for the first time in 2024.
He told his parents that they can order whatever they want without looking at the price.
On hearing this, Amitabh ji’s eyes lit up. He said, “You have taken me back to my memories!”
First dinner at Moti Mahal: Big B’s unheard story
Amitabh ji told that after college, when he earned his first income, he took his parents to Delhi’s famous ‘Moti Mahal’ restaurant for dinner.
It was a big moment for him.
“I was very nervous,” he admitted. “I was worried about how to behave in a big restaurant, what to wear, and how people would look at us.”
A wave of emotions could be clearly seen on his face as he shared this memory.
“This is one such memory that I can never forget,” he said.
When KBC started…
Apart from this, Amitabh ji also talked about the early days of KBC. He told how nervous he was when the show started in 2000.
The format of the show was different from today – no songs and music, just straight questions and answers!
“On the first day I was so nervous that I thought I would do something wrong,” he said laughing.

What will happen next in KBC 17? On August 15, Colonel Sofia, Wing Commander Vyomika and Commander Prerna will appear on the show in the Independence Day special episode.
