‘Son Of Sardaar 2’ will now clash with ‘Dhadak 2’
Ajay Devgn fans, mark your calendars! The much-awaited comedy sequel has got a new release date, setting up an exciting clash with Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi’s film.
Dates shuffled
Originally planned for July 25, the makers today announced that “Son Of Sardaar 2” will now release in cinemas on August 1, 2025.
The official announcement simply stated: “Jassi Paaji and Toli will meet you in cinemas worldwide on 1st August 2025.”
Why the change?
While “Saiyaaraa” is currently ruling the box office, this strategic move gives breathing space between releases.
The Mohit Suri-directed film has already earned Rs 20 crore on its first day!
Battle of the sequels
The new date sets up an interesting contest between two highly-awaited sequels.
While Ajay and Mrunal Thakur will bring Punjabi charm in “Son of Sardaar 2”, Triptii and Siddhant will serve romance in “Dhadak 2” on the same day.
What to expect
The trailer promises entertainment filled with action, laughter, and vibrant Punjabi energy.
Set amid the beautiful landscapes of Scotland, it begins with nostalgic cues from the original film and then plunges into Jassi’s new adventures.
Star-studded cast
Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the film features an impressive cast including Sanjay Mishra, Chunky Panday, Deepak Dobriyal, and Kubbra Sait.
It also holds special significance as Mukul Dev’s final performance after he passed away on May 23, 2025.
Earlier scheduling drama
This isn’t the only schedule change. “Param Sundari”, starring Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra, was earlier scheduled to compete with “Son of Sardaar 2” on July 25, but that too has been postponed to an August release.
Behind the Production
The film comes from Jio Studios and Devgn Films, with Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Deshpande handling the production.
