Yes, before he wowed audiences as rockstar Krissh Kapoor, Ahaan had plans for something completely different.
The hidden project
In 2020, YRF had big plans—a multi-part superhero story with Ahaan in the lead role and Ajay Devgn as the villain.
Former Miss World Manushi Chillar was also part of the project.
Industry insiders had described it as “grand and exciting”, with each installment featuring a new villain.
Why the film was shelved
Despite discussions, the film never progressed beyond pre-production.
By 2021, Ajay reportedly backed out, citing scheduling issues as Covid-19 threw his other projects into disarray.
Change of direction
After his superhero dream was shattered, Ahaan changed his path.
He joined director Shiv Rawail’s team as an assistant director on Netflix’s “The Railway Men”.
After the show released in November 2023, he shared his feelings on Instagram: “Sometimes life makes you wonder where you are headed, but that’s when you need to look out the window and see the beauty hidden in it.”
Success of Saiyaara
Now in the present, Ahaan finally debuted with ‘Saiyaara’, which released on July 18.
Directed by Mohit Suri, the romantic musical drama paired Ahaan opposite Anit Padda and the film has done well at the box office.
BREAKING RECORDS
According to early trends, ‘Saiyaaraa’ has grossed 20 crores on its first day, beating 26 films released in 2025, including Ajay Devgn’s “Raid 2”, Akshay Kumar’s “Sky Force”, and Aamir Khan’s “Sittare Zameen Par”.
Sometimes the path takes a turn, but Ahaan’s journey shows that turns can also sometimes lead to a better destination.
