After the ₹580 crore blockbuster Saiyaara, Ahaan Panday explains why he doesn’t consider himself a star kid.

highest-grossing Film
Ahaan Panday‘s entry into Bollywood has been nothing short of a dream. His debut film, ‘Saiyaara,’ has taken the box office by storm.
With a massive ₹580 crore gross, it has become the highest-grossing romantic film in Indian cinema to date.
Everyone, from audiences to critics, is praising Ahaan’s work. But, as is Bollywood’s custom, this tremendous success has also raised the same old question—did his film background make his path easier?
I am not a ‘star kid’
Ahaan’s views on heavyweight terms like nepotism and ‘star kid‘ are clear.
In an interview with GQ magazine, he spoke openly about this debate and made it clear that he doesn’t place himself in this category.
He said, “I can’t speak from my own experience because Chunky Pandey (his father) isn’t a star.”
Saw the world from behind the fence
Ahaan is the son of businessman Alok ‘Chikki’ Pandey and Deanne Pandey. Although his parents aren’t actors, he has a long-standing connection to the industry—his uncle, Chunky Panday, is an actor and Shah Rukh Khan is a close friend of the family.
Despite growing up among stars, Ahaan considered himself an outsider. Sharing his experience, he said, “I always felt like I was watching everything from behind a fence.
I could reach out and try to touch, but what was on the other side was just beyond my reach.”
For him, the real privilege was that he saw and learned from this glitz and glamour up close.
Preparing for the next blockbuster
After the smashing success of “Saiyaara,” Ahan isn’t about to stop. He’s now busy preparing for his next film, being produced under the Yash Raj Films banner.
According to reports, it will be an action-romance film directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
Sharvari will star opposite him in the film, while Aaishvary Thackeray is being considered for the villain’s role.
