Actor regrets

“Kabir Singh,” released in 2019, was a huge box office success, but now actor Adil Hussain, who appeared in a supporting role in the film, has revealed that he regrets being a part of it.

Didn’t read the entire script

Adil revealed in an interview that he was so busy promoting “Mukti Bhavan” at the time that he didn’t read the entire script.

Nor had he seen its original Telugu version, “Arjun Reddy.”

Wanted to refuse by increasing the price

Interestingly, Adil wanted to back out of the film. He asked his manager to ask for five times his normal fee, hoping the filmmaker would refuse.

But that didn’t happen. He accepted the role after reading a “biblically written” scene.

Eyes Opened After Release

But after the film’s release, his views changed. He said, “I found the film misogynistic. When I saw it, I thought, ‘What have I done?'”

He stressed that this regret is personal and cannot be blamed on director Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

What was the film’s story?

‘Kabir Singh’ proved to be Shahid Kapoor’s biggest solo hit, grossing over ₹379 crore.

The film tells the story of Kabir Singh, a talented surgeon who begins to self-destruct after his girlfriend (Kiara Advani) marries someone else.

What will Adil do next?

Adil Hussain is currently promoting his new film, ‘Mercy,’ which has been screened at several international film festivals. Its Indian release date is yet to be decided.
