Aamir Khan called Bollywood’s expensive comforts and demands shameful, how producers got upset

Shameful demands revealed
Aamir Khan openly said on Komal Nahta’s YouTube show Game Changers that many personal demands of today’s Bollywood stars are shameful.
He also believes that when producers are already under budget pressure, such expenses are not necessary for the film.
Learning from the early days
Recalling his early career, Aamir said that at that time, there was only one van, which was shared by the actors and their team.
Food in the green room was also simple.
He said, “I myself paid the salary of my driver; it was my responsibility.”
Experience of Laal Singh Chaddha
Aamir gave the example of his film Laal Singh Chaddha, where overconfidence and overspending caused huge losses.
“We spent ₹200 crores, whereas ₹80 crores could have done the job.
An expensive scene for China had to be cut; the pandemic further increased the losses.”
Expenses related to the film only
He believes that producers should bear only those expenses that appear on screen.
This includes the essentials of makeup, hair, costume and set.
The rest, like trainers, spot boys, or cooks, are the actor’s personal staff, whose expenses should be borne by the actor.
Today’s bold demands
Many stars of today demand their personal trainers, nutritionists and live kitchen.
Many times, the cost of on-set gym and multiple vanity vans is also put on the producer. All this is filed in the production budget.
Aamir Khan slams Bollywood actors’ high fees and lavish demands: ‘When a star earns in crores, can’t he pay his own staff?’

Training allowed, rest not
Aamir said, citing the example of Dangal, that when intensive wrestling training was needed for the film, the cost of coaching was justified.
But a personal gym and a chef for daily workouts is the actor’s personal choice; he should manage it himself.
Concerns about the future
He is worried that soon actors will have to pay the rent or EMI of their houses through producers.
He raised the question, “If the producer can pay the school fees of my children, then why not mortgage the house?”
This trend is not good for the industry.
Impact on the industry
When film budgets skyrocket due to luxury and personal comfort, ticket prices will increase and small producers will suffer losses.
Aamir believes that these demands can put the creative ecosystem of the industry in danger.
An actor’s responsibility
In the end, Aamir reiterated that he does not oppose luxury, but wants to save the industry from unfair cost shifting.
He always bears the on-set expenses of his family himself.
His message is clear: there should be limits of respect; only then can the balance of the film be maintained.
