In a heart-touching interview given to The Hollywood Reporter India, the tough-guy filmmaker admitted, “I cried for 10 straight days.
Don’t know why, and in front of random people.”
The director compared these emotions to the feeling he had when Aaliyah was born:
“I had the same feeling as when my daughter was born. Don’t know why I cried so much, just cried.”
Emotional Rollercoaster
Anurag said that even hearing Aaliyah’s name would bring tears to his eyes: “I would just burst into tears.”
Eventually, the emotional storm strangely calmed down: “Suddenly, I stopped drinking, stopped crying, everything just stopped.
I think it was a big catharsis for me.”
